About this model.
Great for long mountain treks and challenging XC flights. Ideal for speed flying and ridge soaring. Generous size glider bag and well padded back support. Only 1.3 kg — one of the lightest harnesses in this category.
With the optional APCO airbag (code 47035), the Hike is certified to EN 1651:1999 and EN 12491:2015.
The airbag is a separate unit that can be attached to every HIKE harness — simple, light and attractively priced, at only 220 g, with no rigid elements.
To connect a reserve parachute you need an external container — side or front (usually 81155SLT for this harness) — plus the 42025 Light Universal Bridle. The reserve connects to the dedicated shoulder attachment points; Velcro leads route the bridle up to the shoulders.

Frequently asked questions about the APCO Hike.
Important before buying: how is the Hike certified?
The EN certification applies only in combination with the optional airbag. Without the airbag the harness is not EN-tested. That is the most important point about this model and why we put it first: if you need EN certification — for training, your club or your insurance — you must order the airbag with it. The maximum pilot weight is 120 kg.
Who is the Hike built for?
For hike-and-fly. It is APCO's ultra-light reversible harness that turns into a rucksack — 1.3 kg, split legs, designed for walking with it before flying with it. If you mainly fly your local hill and rarely carry far, a conventional harness gives you more comfort and the protector as standard.
Does it fit my body height?
One size for 160 to 190 cm. Back length 610 mm, seat length 430 mm, seat width 2 × 230 mm, supported back length 320 mm, hang-point height 420 mm, carabiner spacing adjustable from 295 to 490 mm.
Is a reserve parachute included?
No. Harness and reserve are ordered separately, and that makes sense: the reserve must match the suspended weight, the container the packing volume of the reserve. Tell us which rescue system you want to install — we will check in advance whether container and canopy fit together.
