VI · Construction

About this model.

It pops overhead reliably and stays there without plucking the pilot off the ground — ideal for the working tandem pilot with many launches per day.

Construction follows our tradition for durability: extremely durable cloth (42 g/m² zero-porosity ripstop nylon) and proven construction in a lightweight package, built to last in demanding daily operation.

The FLEXON® batten system reinforces the ribs, keeps the profile in shape and makes the wing easy to pack.

IX · FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the APCO Game MKIII.

How is the Game MKIII certified?

The two sizes differ clearly here, and this is the most important point before buying. Size 42 is certified EN B / LTF B and DGAC-registered — a flight-behaviour classification exists for it. Size 39 is listed with EN 926-1, which is the structural load-test standard, not the flight-behaviour test of EN 926-2. If you need an EN class for operations or insurance, this is the decisive difference. Talk to us before you choose the size.

Which size do I need for which all-up weight?

In free flight, size 39 is listed for 110–190 kg all-up weight and size 42 for up to 230 kg. The manufacturer's table shows two lower limits for size 42 (110 and 140 kg) — for the binding lower limit, please check the certification document for your size. In powered operation, size 39 is certified up to 286 kg and size 42 up to 326 kg. This always means the complete take-off weight: both pilots, both harnesses, reserve and equipment.

What licence do I need for tandem flights?

In the DACH region a tandem rating is required in addition to the regular pilot licence. As soon as you fly passengers for payment, commercial requirements and appropriate insurance apply. The exact rules differ between Germany, Austria and Switzerland — clarify with your federation before ordering.

How does the wing fly and what does it weigh?

The Game MKIII has 50 cells in size 39 and 52 in size 42, areas of 39.6 and 42.5 m² and aspect ratios of 5.1 and 5.4. Speeds: slowest flight 23 km/h, trim 38–39 km/h, maximum above 46 km/h, minimum sink 1.1 m/s at optimal wing loading. Canopy weight is 7.9 kg (39) and 8.4 kg (42) — realistic for a tandem, and you will feel it on the way to launch.

What is special about the construction?

The APP shark-nose profile and a 3D cut give a shape-stable leading edge. Practical in daily operation is the replaceable trim system: wear parts on the trims can be replaced instead of grounding the wing — on a tandem that racks up hours season after season, that matters more than any performance detail. Plus Paracam pulleys and brake tensioners at the trailing edge.

What warranty and which cloth?

3 years or 250 flight hours — whichever comes first. The sail cloth is 42 g/m² zero-porosity ripstop nylon, the heavier and more robust option, which makes sense under the strain of tandem operation. Colour options: Red/Yellow and Green/Blue.
