About this model.

The Vista VI is APCO's middle B — designed for talented beginners or pilots who wish to step up to the B category with a very calm, safe and easy wing to fly. Certification: EN-B (Intermediate).

Vista VI is a very solid canopy which reassures the pilot with its consistency and pitch damping characteristics. The wing especially excels in strong conditions with its solidity and homogenous feeling. It will reassure the pilot with its safety, build confidence, allowing for continuous improvement in cross country skills.

C-steering risers – equipped with C-steering system for building piloting skills and active flying on speed bar – recommended for pilots stepping up from an A wing.

Standard 3 line risers – Lightweight (99 Gr) made from 12mm. kevlar polyester webbing with APCO’s proprietary V-links. Simple to understand, clean design, recommended for pilots who do not need C-steering option.

Please indicate which risers are preferred when ordering – in absence of mentioning wing will be supplied as default with Standard 3-line risers.

IX · FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the APCO Vista VI.

Which size fits my take-off weight?

In free flight: XS 55–80 kg, S 70–95 kg, M 90–110 kg, L 105–130 kg — always take-off weight with complete equipment. For powered flying further ranges apply: XS 70–110 kg, S 85–125 kg, M 95–140 kg, L 120–160 kg. The free-flight ranges overlap; in the upper half the wing flies tauter and faster, in the lower half calmer with better launch behaviour in light wind.

How is the Vista VI certified?

S, M and L are certified EN B. XS is listed as EN B* — a manufacturer's note on that size. The certification documents for each size are available as downloads; if the exact classification matters for insurance or operations, please check the document for your size.

What does the C-steering give me?

In accelerated flight you steer via the C level instead of the brakes. The advantage: the profile stays cleanly loaded while you correct — with the brakes you would pull down the trailing edge in accelerated flight and give away performance. The Vista VI is available either with C-steering risers or with classic 3-liner risers. If you mainly fly distance, the C-steering is the more sensible choice.

Who is this wing intended for?

For pilots with solid basic technique who fly thermals and distance and want a wing that delivers performance without demanding constant attention. 49 to 54 cells, aspect ratio 5.3 to 5.8, slowest flight 21 km/h, trim speed 39 km/h, top speed above 51 km/h, minimum sink 0.95 m/s. The low minimum speed and good sink rate are what make the difference in weak thermals.

How heavy is the wing and which colours are there?

The canopy weight is between 4.6 kg (XS) and 5.4 kg (L) depending on size. Colour options: Azure (#24), Fire (#34) and Ice (#20).

What else is in the construction?

Mini-ribs at the trailing edge for a clean profile all the way to the exit, 3D cut at the nose, brake tensioners and Butt Holes 2 for venting. None of it is for its own sake: the mini-ribs are the reason the Vista VI does not feel nervous despite an aspect ratio of up to 5.8.
