VI · Construction

About this model.

It launches easily, even in nil wind, and remains stable throughout the speed range.

The wing is designed for cross-country and recreational flying — not a competition machine, but an efficient everyday reflex wing with Mohawk roll stability.

Certification: load-tested to EN 926-1, shock- and load-tested up to 160 kg, holding full DGAC approval. The certified take-off weight is binding — flying above it is outside certification.

IX · FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the APCO F3 MKII.

Which size fits my take-off weight?

The F3 comes in 22, 24 and 26 m². In powered flight the ranges are 70–100 kg (22), 70–120 kg (24) and 70–140 kg (26) all-up weight. On a trike they shift to 70–120, 70–140 and 70–165 kg. This always means everything that leaves the ground: pilot, motor, full tank, harness and reserve.

How is the F3 certified?

All three sizes carry DGAC registration, load-tested to EN 926-1. EN 926-1 tests the structural strength of the construction, not the flight behaviour — so there is no EN class A to D under EN 926-2 for this wing. That is usual for reflex paramotor wings; if you need an EN classification, the F3 is not the right wing.

Where does the F3 sit between F5 and F1?

In the middle, and clearly so. The F5 is the entry-level reflex with aspect ratio 4.9–5.2 and 62 km/h top speed. The F1 is the competition machine with aspect ratio 6.6 and 80 km/h. The F3 sits at aspect ratio 5.77 to 6.23 and 69 km/h — sporty enough for XC, but not as demanding as the F1. APCO recommends it from around 50 flight hours.

How fast does it fly and what do the trimmers do?

The F3 has three usable trim settings: closed 36–40 km/h, neutral 43–47 km/h, open 50–56 km/h. With the speed bar, up to 69 km/h is possible. Slowest flight 25 km/h, minimum sink 1.2 m/s. The three trim steps are the real utility: you fly the same wing leisurely in thermals or briskly against the wind, without working the brakes.

What is built in?

Flow Aligned Ribs, 3D cut, embedded hang points, HIT valves for inflating in light wind, FLEXON rods in the leading edge and the OAA airflow geometry. 56 to 60 cells depending on size, canopy weight 4.35 to 5.05 kg.

What warranty and which colours?

3 years or 250 flight hours — whichever comes first. Four colour options: Winter (#09), Ice (#20), Devil (#21) and Azure (#24).
